Rick Otton is one of the original pioneers of creative property strategies in Australia, New Zealand and United Kingdom. He is internationally recognized by the property industry for his positive cash flow and little or no money down property transactions.
Rick is founder and CEO of We Buy Houses, a leading property enterprise which Rick has successfully expanded into the international markets of the United Kingdom, New Zealand, USA and Australia. Starting in 1991, Rick has been buying, selling and trading property, using little or none of his own money and structuring transactions to create positive cash flow. Since 2001, Rick has taught 25,760 people to buy, sell and trade residential property using his strategies.
Rick's mission is to transform how people buy and sell property, to empower where the traditional real estate system has failed.
He is creating an international community of investors who unite making money with the higher purpose of solving other people’s problems. These include problems such as potential buyers who desire to own their own home but can’t get on the property ladder and sellers who are facing financial difficulty as a result of owning property.
Rick believes "Things don't change, people change things". He relishes the challenge of looking at standard practice and asking, why is it this way and is it working?
His philosophy has been highlighted in various Australian TV shows. He has appeared in: 2004 ABC documentary Reality Bites, Today Tonight, Insight on SBS and A Current Affair. In October 2007 Rick gave a way a house on national TV during 2 episodes of Channel 9’s Hot Property.
